In December 2014 the Child Care Modernization Act, 2014 was passed.  As part of a phased in approach to develop and implement new regulations, the new Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, will replace the existing Day Nurseries Act and will come into effect on September 1, 2015. Schoolhouse Playcare Centres believes that high quality child care should be accessible and affordable to all families.  Knowing that this is not what families currently experience, we have initiated a campaign to raise awareness about our current child care environment and its impact on families.  Please find attached the first in a series of bulletins entitled “Child Care Chronicles”.  We encourage you to read this information, share it with others and to call your local Member of Parliament to question the current government’s commitment to a child care system that truly supports families, and our economy.  Collectively, we can make a change for all children and families!Chronicles
