Schoolhouse Playcare Centres of Durham is a licensed childcare organization that has been serving Durham Region for more than 34 years. We will now be offering licensed home childcare to help support the current demand for quality childcare for families.

As a licensed home provider with Schoolhouse Playcare, you will have the flexibility to work from home and pick your own hours that work for you and your family.

• More income by enrolling up to six children in your care – you will receive 100% of all childcare fees!
• Ability to enroll Regionally Subsidized families
• Eligibility for the Home Child Care Enhancement Grant
• Support to access funding through Durham Region (i.e., health & safety, toys & equipment)
• Access to the SPC toy and book lending library
• Regular networking with other Licensed Home Child Care providers & professional learning opportunities

Schoolhouse Playcare will also help support your needs such as set up of your home, initial and ongoing trainings, and monthly program support visits with a Licensed Home Child Care Consultant. We also support with ongoing administration, collection of parent fees on your behalf and have a referral bonus for new providers.

We are looking for someone who:

• Loves children and has experience working with children and families
• Manages multiple priorities while ensuring a quality childcare experience for children
• Is committed to their own professional development/learning as a LHCC provider
• Wants to network and learn from other LHCC providers and early learning professionals
• Has current Standard First Aid/CPR Level C (or willing to be certified)
• Has current Food Handlers Certificate (or willing to get certified)
• Will provide a current Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Must be 18 years of age or older
